Being born in the 80's and growing up in the 90's, It's no surprise to me why I have such admiration and appreciation for artists, designers and developers who produce pixel art and animations. Spending hours playing what are now "arcade classics" such as Donkey Kong, Sonic, Out Run... Leisure Suit Larry etc. paved the way for a nostalgic rush every time I see pixel art being created today.
You really cant fathom the challenge of this art genre unless you try it yourself... which I have... on a few occasions... and failed on every single one of them. You need to have complete patience as It's incredibly time consuming and that's something i don't have.
Another challenge with pixels and working on a relatively small canvas is keeping everything fairly minimal without loosing too much detail that the scene become unrecognisable. ,br>Gustavo has illustrated scenes from some our most beloved movies. Check him out
