Illustrator hits the big 30

Illustrator hits the big 30

Launched in 1987, my favourite piece of software, Adobe's Illustrator hits it's 30th anniversary.
Adobe launched Illustrator in 1987 as a piece of software which gave designers the power to design logos and fonts.

Since then the software has grown over time, completely destroying Macromedias Freehand, absorbing all of Freehand's better qualities such as multiple art boards.

Users are creating all kinds of design work from complex illustration, 3D, data visualisation to web design and svg sprites.

While I may feel a little old having used Illustrator for 20 of its 30 years, the software itself continues to grow and develop into something more awesome with every iteration.
